FINISHED SIZE

Finished size of stocking measures approximately 65cm (25 5 /8) in height by 22cm (8¾) wide

SPECIAL TIPS

Use a stitch marker to indicate where the round starts, so you don’t lose or add rounds. Fasten off after each round or row, change colour on the final yrh of the last colour before colour change is indicated. Work over yarn ends where possible to reduce the number to sew in at the end.

There’s nothing that says Christmas tradition quite like hanging up a stocking, so this year we think you should try making your own and adding that personal touch. This crochet version is a fun way to try a new shape and lots of colours, while still being beginner-friendly.

Instructions

Foot

The colour is changed virtually every round. For simplicity, the colour of yarn for a round is shown at the start of the round – for example Round 2 uses Yarn B. Finish each round with a ss and rejoin next round in the last st unless told otherwise. When a colour change occurs within a round, change on the final yrh of the last colour.

Round 1 A start with a magic ring, ch3 (counts as 1tr here and throughout), 14tr in ring, ss to top of beg ch3 to join [15tr]
