Whenever something feels off below the belt, you just want to erase said problem fast. It's tempting to throw drugstore fixes at it, and one popular (and easily available) choice is boric acid suppositories: tiny powder-filled capsules that you insert into your vagina. (You may have seen ones from buzzy brands like The Honey Pot Company and Love Wellness.) This substance is said to have antiseptic and antifungal properties that can cure both yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis (BV) and related discharge and odor.

But before you go poppin' capsules anywhere, read on for what they can and can't do for down-there wellness.
