If you have an animal at home, there’s a good chance you already know the benefits they have in our lives. If there is ever any doubt, you don’t have to search very hard to find research pointing to the many ways pets can improve our physical and mental health. From lowering blood pressure and improving cardiac health to calming anxiety and alerting patients that sickness is coming, it’s no wonder the bond is used in various types of therapy.
