Keep sowing and growing

GIVEN a bright windowsill, greenhouse or propagator, you can sow and grow fresh salads all year round with the huge range of seedling-cum-leaf-salad mixtures. We sow shallow trays of these densely to cut their leaves while still young. They are easy, nutritious, productive and seldom suffer pest or disease problems (other than the usual rampaging molluscs). Their only drawback is that you may start so many that you will fill all your warm, light spaces.
