HOPEFULLY, packets of vegetable seed will be widely available for sowing next year, but just in case they are not, let me tell you about the best crops you can grow for yourself, without having to get packet seeds.
Potatoes are easiest, as we use sets and not seed. Save small, egg-sized tubers from the healthiest plants and keep in a dark, frost-free place; buried in a tin is good.
