The star of The Undoing and Tell Me Your Secrets reminisces on late-night dinners in New York, getting lost in Venice and skydiving in Cairns.

When I was 17 I went to Australia. It was a memorable flight experience because we missed our initial connection, but we eventually got there and I have such fond memories. We were in Cairns and everywhere we went was so beautiful. We went rock climbing and scuba-diving and skydiving. That’s something I’ll never forget.

I feel so grateful that I keep getting to work with Australians. I just worked with John Polson and Xavier Samuel on Tell Me Your Secrets, and I’ve worked with Sam Worthington on something, and with this wonderful actor called Damon Herriman on The Underground Railroad. And they all know each other! I barely have to say a last name and they’re like, “Yes, of course.”

I support binge-watching, I do it myself all the time with shows that I love. But I wonder if there will be people who might pace themselves with Tell Me Your Secrets. There’s such wonderful restraint in the show. I hope that people give themselves a chance to wonder and wait, like reading a great book.
