Gratin dauphinois

Named after the Dauphiné region of France, gratin dauphinois is a classic dish that defies eras but was especially popular in the ’70s. For a modern spin, we’ve added crisp, smoky bacon, parmesan and golden sourdough crumbs to dial up the savoury factor. This recipe serves eight as a side and makes for the perfect family meal when paired with roast chicken or pork and a fresh leafy salad. Set aside 20 minutes for preparation, plus 1 hour and 10 minutes for cooking.
