Aviattic 1/32 World War I Marienfelde German Lorry
Scale Aircraft Modelling|December 2016

Aviattic have been around for a few years now, making a name for themselves primarily as a producer of high quality decals and accessories tailored specifically for the World War I market.

Aviattic 1/32 World War I Marienfelde German Lorry

The company has always been ambitious and so it was only a matter of time before they produced their first full sized kit. And here it is.

The Daimler Marienfelde 4-5d was very much the workhorse of the Schlastas and Jasta’s during the later war period and as such makes a wonderful addition to any collection of 1/32 aviation subjects. The kit comes in a lavish and professional looking box which when opened is revealed to conatain extremely well moulded resin parts, a large sheet of photo etch, various metal rods and chains and a stunningly detailed instruction manual. When the first few kits were sent out at the beginning of the year, there were some problems with the casting of some of the parts which had resulted in some war page issues. Sale of the kits was swiftly halted and replacements for the affected parts were recast, and it is the revised kit that I am reviewing and building. Buyers of the initial run should all have had the affected parts replaced by now. The first 200 kits to be sold also include a rather useful driver figure expertly sculpted by Steve Warrilow.
