Appeal for clues
ANTIQUE rods and reels have been stolen from the cottage of a major tackle collector.
The Hampshire burglary resulted in one of the largest hauls of tackle ever stolen, valued in the region of £20,000.
It’s the biggest personal loss of tackle since we reported the theft of Berkshire-based specimen ace Neill Stephen’s complete set of hi-tech and vintage gear, worth ‘tens of thousands of pounds’.
The latest theft was all collectors’ items, many originating from the famous Edward Barder Rod Company, who are leading the appeal.
A huge reward of £5,000 will be paid to anyone who provides information that leads directly to the recovery of the stolen items and arrest of the thieves.
