&lsquo;Timeless&rsquo; is a time-worn and more or less useless way of describing anyone&rsquo;s work, particularly that of an architect. His House for the Poem of the Right Angle, meanwhile, is a crystalline cave and homage to the writings of Le Corbusier. It was this house that particularly intrigued Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, who first met Radi&Auml;&Dagger; in 2017. The fruits of that creative relationship, a new three-storey Alexander McQueen flagship store in London, opened earlier this year on Old Bond Street, with Radi&Auml;&Dagger; describing it as a &lsquo;domestic labyrinth, a place where you could wander and get calmly lost, where you could find fashion, art and architecture in true connection, defining your space.&rsquo; Radi&Auml;&Dagger; has&thinsp;carefully drawn in the interior. &lsquo;The feeling is cave-like and references the interior of the House for the Poem. We got the surface from the mould of plastic bubble wrap.&rsquo; The space is also shot through with glass tubes and houses sculptures by artist Marcela Correa, Radi&Auml;&Dagger;&rsquo;s wife. &lsquo;I think the idea of a landscape is a good image for the ambience of the store,&rsquo; says Radi&Auml;&Dagger;. &lsquo;There is something about freedom, but it&rsquo;s not random. There are the floating mannequins all dressed up, beautiful fabrics and silks hanging around, the glass tubes piercing the space, and the pieces by Marcela. This is important to us.&rsquo; He also hopes the store can happily stage whatever Burton throws at it in upcoming seasons. &lsquo;There is something unstable in the fashion world, but at the same time there is something permanent in the work that Sarah Burton does,&rsquo; he says. &lsquo;We thought about this permanent stratum of her work.&rsquo;
