Gold Experience

Experimentation and innovation are nothing new to Panerai, whose roots in military history, and the developmental challenges that entailed set the tone for what the brand represents. From the outset, the Luminor model was one such development, which it immortalizes in various ways for the manufacture today. Take for example the Luminor name itself. It was initially developed as a luminous compound based on tritium in the 1950s to improve legibility in the depths for navy divers. This replaced the radium-based material used previously, thus birthing the iconic Luminor family of watches that succeeded the Radiomir.
