Teenage Stress & Ways To Handle It

Stress among children- Stress is prevalent in every age group, but it looks different in each age bracket and has different effects. Children below five years too have stress. There are many cases in which blood sugar, urine sugar and blood pressure are high in children below five before their exam (they don’t even know about sugar levels!). It was observed to be normal after the exams were over. Therefore, effects of stress will be different in every age group. As they grow up, the stress is added up because of the society and its influence.

Stress and gender- Girls have much more tolerance due to certain hormones that help them control stress more as compared to boys. Handling ways are different for everybody, and it is not gender biased. So two brothers may handle stress differently. Every individual is different, and so it depends on the child and his nature. Sometimes going to hostel is easy for a boy and problematic for his sister.

Peer-pressure- The peer pressure among students can be overcome only by good connect with parents. It is the responsibility of the parents to talk to their child. If he has something in mind, about the things that his or her friends have and he does not, he or she will go and talk to his parents. It depends on the parents how they react and explain to their child. Parents should go to their child and ask him or her about what’s going on their mind. Personally, I don’t believe in generation gaps, there’s no such thing. The child will first turn to his or her parent no matter what! The reason why a child chooses his friend is because he thinks that his parents will not agree on the point ever. Children are often under this impression and parents keep regretting it instead of talking to them. I believe that a child gives a million of signs going through stress but parents overlook that.
