Digitalization of Fashion Weeks

On May 24, FDCI announced its first digital fashion show. The news was announced through Instagram and was captioned, ANNOUNCEMENT, The FDCI is reinventing the wheels and the reset button has been pressed. FDCI goes digital! Stay tuned for India’s first-ever digital fashion week. #FDCI #FDCIGoesDigital. On the same lines, Lakme Fashion Week also turned towards the digital show and later all fashion events saw its grand launch through social media for a better and safer tomorrow.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir

The historic and groundbreaking Bhoomi Puja ceremony of Ram Mandir took place on August 5 and was done in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The silver brick marking the Bhoomi Puja of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya took has been the biggest landmark of 2020 and has opened a new gateway for tourism and cultural growth in the years to come. The date of Bhoomi Puja was set by N R Vijayendra Sharma of Belagavi, Karnataka.

Rishi Kapoor

The actor, who had charmed his way into millions of hearts with his scintillating debut in 1973's 'Bobby', was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, he underwent treatment in New York for almost a year and in September 2019, he returned to India but was rarely seen in public since. He passed away on April 3oth and the news was first shared by Amitabh Bachchan on his microblogging site, where he wrote, Rishi Kapoor... gone... passed away. I am destroyed !. The tweet was deleted soon after. While Kapoor's acting prowess is indisputable, the actor also left fans with some evergreen tunes from his films. He will always be alive through his songs.

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan passed away on 29th April at a hospital in Mumbai, where he was admitted for colon infection. The 53-year-old actor had been battling cancer since 2018. Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa and sons – Babil and Ayan. Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar first posted the demise of the method actor and penned a condolence note remembering the actor. He wrote, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again..”. Irrfan Khan’s last film was ‘Angrezi Medium’, which hit the screens days before the lockdown was announced. His innocent portrayal of a father willing to go against all odds for his daughter was much lauded by fans. Due to the lockdown, ‘Angrezi Medium’ stopped playing in theatres and was later released on an OTT platform.
