Can you briefly describe how your fashion journey began?It started through my mom. She was a dressmaker and her works have surrounded me, which became a big part of my life. You can&rsquo;t get away from that.What made you gravitate towards designing gowns and evening wear?Again, it&rsquo;s because of my mom. I was doing handwork on some of my recent dresses and it reminded me of when I was 10 or 11; I used to do beading for my mom. She always had evening wear and bridal gowns around and when those are around you, you just think of ways of how to be innovative and acquire a different taste because you&rsquo;ve seen them so much. You really want to try and combine and come up with something different from what you have seen.How did you hone the skills to make gowns and evening wear?My mom taught me everything. I don&rsquo;t have a fashion degree; she&rsquo;s my fashion degree.Do you have some tips for individuals who want to penetrate the fashion industry?The business side is very important. There are lot of designers that could be great, but the business side isn&rsquo;t there. You have to work with different brands and learn from them.
