APPLE IPAD AIR
It is amazing how an innovation-driven brand such as Apple is able to roll out products after products that aren’t only functional, but also environmentally friendly. Using a 100 percent recycled aluminium enclosure, 100 percent recycled tin for the solder on its main logic board and 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in the magnets of the speakers, the iPad Air (4th generation) is the most eco-conscious full-screen tablet on the market. While one might assume that impeccable performance equals high energy consumption, but according to Apple’s Product Environmental Report, the tablet uses 61 percent less energy than the requirements for Energy Star thanks to its pre-installed software and power-efficient components that intelligently manage power consumption.
The new iPad Air represents yet another product that is in-line with Apple’s 2030 plan to bring the company’s entire carbon footprint to net zero. Apple has been setting comprehensive plans to achieve its environmental goals throughout the years. Designed to be long-lasting using durable materials that are heavily tested in its Reliability Testing Lab, Apple devices are supported by ongoing OS updates and backed by a network of over 5000 Apple-certified repair locations.
