The new digital alternative has presented us the new phase of fashion shows, but are we ready for the change?

There is no denying on the visceral power of a real-life show, but at this strange period of time, fashion brands are left with no other choice but to showcase their collections virtually. That being said, the future of fashion remains bleak even after months of live streaming and “phygita” presentations. Will they return to what they used to be pre-pandemic? Will there be more or lesser shows? As of now, nobody really knows the answers to the questions.

It was exciting to see different label coming out with their own creative ways of presenting their collections. What Maison Margiela did was beyond brilliant. The over-50-minute experimental documentary by legendary fashion photographer, filmmaker and director of SHOWstudio Nick Knight delivered a new consciousness clarified by the illumination creative process and human values the “Artisanal” Co-ed Collection Autumn/Winter 2020 represents. The desire of transparency John Galliano has brought to the screen has opened a new window for all fashion enthusiasts to get an insight look behind every complex mean and technique of creating a spellbinding collection – from inspiration to task delegation and execution within the design team, the production crews as well as the models.
