When is the body at its best?
More than the one-two punch of a strenuous workout routine and strict diet, as well as optimizing the process with necessary supplements, these men at their veritable peak and prime prove that all it takes is a repurposed mindset and recalibrated lifestyle. Really, the ripped, chiselled muscles are just a bonus, they insist. Meet the diverse and beast of a group behind the first ever MEGA Man and Euphoria-Maxx Best Bodies. Trust us, you will want to put that slice of pizza down now.
Tanner Mata is no stranger to fitness. Active growing up and always on the move, Tanner began proper training in his first year of high school, joining a strength training program. It was just natural for him to be around and doing exercise. “I guess it was always on my mind. I never really thought, ‘Oh, I should take care of my bod.’ It was more that I like working out. I like being fit, pushing my body to the limit and seeing what I can do with myself. With my friends, I was always active—we were outside running around doing parkour.”
As an international model, and now a regular personality on TV, he continues to strive for a body to be proud of, taking fitness seriously. His training is well-organized and holistic, focusing his attention on different muscle groups every day of the week to get a full-body workout with ample rests in between days. “I do chest and arms on Mondays. Back and legs on Tuesdays. Wednesdays, it’s just arms and cardio—then repeat.” Without missing a beat, Tanner remarks about how pull-ups are what he enjoys best. “You can deal with a variety of different types of pull-ups and work with so many different types of muscles, depending on which way you do it.”
For Tanner, motivating yourself over and over again is the key to staying fit and healthy—making a schedule and sticking to it. “[Motivate] yourself to go every day, to do it every week and to stay on routine.” Look at the guy, it’s hard not to follow his words of advice.—KS
TONY LABRUSCA @tony.labrusca
A rambunctious and active kid growing up, Tony Labrusca would imagine he was a superhero from a movie he just saw, pretending he would have their powers. “It ran wild, for sure,” he says of his imagination. “One time, I jumped of a 12-staircase building. Someone said that there was a ghost behind so I decided to just jump off. I almost broke my leg,” he recalls with a laugh.
Ghost stories and Kill Bill fantasies aside, Tony simply wanted to live a life with no regrets—doing and experiencing new things. “I want to spend my life and live it,” he says. This then led him to take up gymnastics at 15 years old. “Gymnastics is something that is fun for me and I like to keep it that way.”
More than just a sport or fitness routine, this keen interest and enthusiasm for gymnastics has been a great foundation for the work that is required of the actor in the teleserye, La Luna Sangre. “I’ve been able to have the opportunity to do all my own stunts. It’s really helped me out and it has made me incorporate something that I love with work.”

LESSONS FROM LUIS THE MONEY LAUNDERER
What drives one to cross continents the hard way? Is this what Overlanding is about? That persistent feeling that we'll never be caught if nothing can catch us? The optimist in me sure hoped that was the case. And after riding a battered old KLR650 35,000km from Canada to the southern tip of South America I'm still unsure what the purpose or motivation was. Worthwhile? Absolutely. Why? No idea.
