Tanner Mata is no stranger to fitness. Active growing up and always on the move, Tanner began proper training in his first year of high school, joining a strength training program. It was just natural for him to be around and doing exercise. “I guess it was always on my mind. I never really thought, ‘Oh, I should take care of my bod.’ It was more that I like working out. I like being fit, pushing my body to the limit and seeing what I can do with myself. With my friends, I was always active—we were outside running around doing parkour.”

As an international model, and now a regular personality on TV, he continues to strive for a body to be proud of, taking fitness seriously. His training is well-organized and holistic, focusing his attention on different muscle groups every day of the week to get a full-body workout with ample rests in between days. “I do chest and arms on Mondays. Back and legs on Tuesdays. Wednesdays, it’s just arms and cardio—then repeat.” Without missing a beat, Tanner remarks about how pull-ups are what he enjoys best. “You can deal with a variety of different types of pull-ups and work with so many different types of muscles, depending on which way you do it.”
