Hermès’ hors-série 2021 savoir-faire women’s ready-to-wear collection is an amalgamation of textures, shapes, and patterns – creating a wondrous journey through time and space

At first glance, Hermès’ latest collection offers a wide range of all things luxuriously fall: Think capes, big coats, and plush materials like knitwear and cashmere. But the Maison’s Artistic Director, Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski moves beyond obvious touchpoints and references to the house’s history. Instead, she introduces a plethora of motifs onto familiar canvases – a sensibility that lends the collection an ethereal air that transcends space and time.

From mosaics to diamonds, to lace and intersecting lines, each of these textures is an alternate reality on its own. Put on the equestrian-inspired jacket and be transported to the likes of a futuristic brutalist colony – its concrete colours and mosaic pattern radiating a dystopian glory.
