I am never changing phone cases again. And yes, that might mean never upgrading to the latest iPhone model, but what do you expect if the living demi-god Chris Hemsworth himself took a selfie with your phone?
Born in Melbourne, Australia, the Home and Away mainstay who later became Hollywood’s superhero heartthrob, first rose to international prominence in J.J. Abrams’s 2009 Star Trek as George Kirk, before landing the lead in Marvel’s 2011 movie adaptation of the Norse god and comic, Thor. Since, it has been an upward trajectory for Hemsworth; from portraying the brooding Eric the Huntsman in Rupert Sanders’s 2012 Snow White and the Huntsman opposite Kristen Stewart, and later in 2013, Ron Howard’s sports drama film Rush, as the 1976 Formula One World Champion James Hunt.
It is this film, that caught the attention of cult watchmaker and manufacturer TAG Heuer. After all, it was a TAG Heuer Carrera chronograph that the late famed racer James Hunt wore when he claimed pole position in the 1976 Formula One Japan Grand Prix. Call it kismet, but it was only a matter of time when both Hemsworth and TAG Heuer joined forces, culminating in a partnership that has since spanned five years, and indeed, our meet at Singapore’s latest Grand Prix.
Here, the herculean actor shares his refreshing approach to the manufacturer’s motto “Don’t Crack Under Pessure”, and life after Thor.
