Birds Of A Feather
Harper's Bazaar Malaysia|February 2020
Starting with a blessing at a monastery, and ending on a high from vibrating singing bowls, Lexie Rodriguez’s wedding blurred the lines between traditional Black Tie and ’70s bohemia. Here, the creative entrepreneur recounts her wedding to Drew Switaj, anchored on a lake in Pokhara.
Birds Of A Feather

WILD STORIES … Crazy things happened at our wedding. Here are the ones I can share: 1. One of the guests stepped in cow dung while going for a walk! 2. Not wanting to miss the welcome barbecue, friends from Kuala Lumpur made a wardrobe change at the side of a dirt path due to a delayed flight into Pokhara. 3. And last but not least, my husband Drew, actually rowed a group of guests over a lake for our wedding welcome barbecue.

THE JOURNEY WITH NATURE … Our wedding ceremony started with a blessing at Monastery Matepani Gumba. Here, we were blessed not only by the head abbot, but also the sunset view of Annapurna Range. We hosted a welcome barbecue before the big wedding ceremony. Guests sat through a 20-minute row boat ride across Phewa Lake to reach our welcome barbecue at Pavilions Lakeview, and the wedding ceremony at Pavilions Himalayas. We had the amazing singer from Paris, Awen Lucille, to serenade us, while traditional Nepalese dancers performed throughout the ceremony.
