All Is Rosie

ROSIE Huntington-Whiteley is supposed to be answering my questions. Instead, the stiletto is on the other foot, so to speak, as I field her concerns for Australia down the line from London. “Is everything OK? I’ve been watching the news and it’s just so devastating,” she says. I fill her in on the state of our country and the ways we’re pulling together to support those who have lost so much. “One of my favorite things about Australians is your strong sense of community. I always feel it whenever I visit.”

This is Huntington-Whiteley’s sixth cover for Harper’s BAZAAR Australia. There’s no better representative of what it means right now to live your life free of the self-doubt that so often holds us back. She’s the iconic British beauty who made the journey from high-fashion supermodel to actor, starring in blockbusters Mad Max and Transformers, designer (her beloved Rosie range for British high-street behemoth Marks & Spencer, which spans underwear, beauty, swimwear, and activewear) and, most recently, founder of online beauty forum Rose Inc. (roseinc.com). “For much of my career, I’ve been focused on working as hard as I can to get to a point where I can do my own thing. I’ve never felt comfortable sitting back and waiting for the phone to ring,” she says, admitting there have been long periods when no one called. “I like to be in control.”
