YOUR POST-PARTY DETOX PLAN

No one can blame you for overindulging this party season. After all, the dawn of 2020 was said to bring forth an apocalypse. But even though the world still carries forward as mundane as ever, there’s a good chance your skin looks like it’s been through the predicted apocalypse. The all-nighter festivities, excessive make-up, pre-resolution binging and, of course, the extra booze has added dullness and invited new friends (read: zits) to the party.

Worry not, we’re here to kick those pesky freeloaders out with expert skincare solutions that’ll detox, clarify and bring that missing glow back.

BRIGHTEN DULL SKIN

Dull skin is one of the commonest issues that many of us face post or even during the party season. This generally comes from a break in your normal routine which robs your skin of the extra love it deserves. For this, we’d recommend you get back and stick to your normal routine as soon as possible. As dr Apratim Goel, dermatologist and Laser Surgeon suggests, “Stick to your normal skincare routine of cleansing, toning, sunscreen, moisturiser, and eye cream. Choose the products depending on your skin type. A scrub can be used 2-3 times a week.”

Go for scrubs that have fine micro-particles that can really clean up those pores; but scan the ingredients’ list carefully. Products with fragrance are best avoided as your skin is still sensitive from all the abuse it’s been through. Moisturising post exfoliation is equally important as it replenishes the moisture your skin has lost. It’s best to pick a water-based moisturiser that restores the pH balance of your skin and leaves it hydrated.
