A self-designed duplex house by Mrs. and Mr. Chadha, Sector 21 Chandigarh, is one of its kinds. “Trophy” is a new buzz word in the high-end property market, meaning a house that is a one-off or limited edition, much like haute couture. Such a place, or rather a villa is demonstrated by the Chadha house, with an understated look from the outside.
Starting from the basement adorned with multiple utilities that can never keep you bored, yes, there are games, a living room, a pantry, a Jacuzzi, sauna room and a gymnasium. The personal best feature of the basement being the pool which is not as normal as a house pool but with a wave system and a rain shower with a water filtration plant and a twelve month hot water facility. The house has five suite bedrooms in use with exotic attached bathrooms and pantry on all the floors.
The driveway of the house is surrounded by lush green plants with a tastefully landscaped lawn. The one kanal house consists of four floors, with 5 bedroom-suites with beautiful balconies. Mrs. Chadha is a perfect home maker; she is an interior designer, so all the designing of the house is done by her. It took two years to conceptualize and execute the making of the house.
Talking to Glimpse, Mrs. Chadha said, “For me an ideal home is where there is intimacy among the family members. Even if the house has many luxurious rooms, during the dinner everyone should eat and enjoy together. I also feel that a beautiful house should be spacious and should have lots of greenery as it brings positivity in the house”.
