The controversial Section 377, a 158year old colonial law on consensual gay sex has been scrapped by the Supreme Court in a landmark judgment delivered by a 5 judge bench earlier this month. We join in the celebrations of the LGBT community and hail the decision of the apex court.
From a religious point of view, if god has thought that homosexuality is a sin, he would not have created gay people-Howard Dean Everyone deserves love and everyone shall get it and they shall get it from the person they love. Gender does not matter because love is love, it cannot be forced on anyone. The heart knows its ways and it is free to choose its partner without any legal or social shackles binding them back.
India’s apex court has recently legalized gay sex in a historic judgment. The decision sent waves of euphoria amongst India’s LGBT community. Loud cheers were heard echoing across the country and unending tears of joy trickled down faces which had desperately waited for this decision to come and fought hard for their rightful place under the sun. No more hiding your sexual preference or orientation. Now everybody has the right to choose their partner and have consensual sexual relationship with them.
