History Is Alive On The Wheels

The extreme test for endurance and driving skill of car enthusiasts and rallyists at the popular SJOBA- Nexen Sub-Himalayan Open Rally powered by Indian Oil Xtra Premium, on 10-12 march this year. One of oldest and commanding motor sport events in the country, the rally enters 30th year in a row.

Maanokriti Bedi

The first SJOBA Motorcycle rally was held in 1981 and this graduated to the SJOBA Open Rally in 1982 where, for the first time, amateurs in the region were exposed to motor sports in a professional way.

To change, evolve and improve has been the way of SJOBA. In 2007, SJOBA realized that motorsport by and large is all about speed but not always. The TSD (Time, Speed and Distance) format of rallying is very popular and can be extremely competitive as well. To suit many, in order to provide a platform for those who do not have the capability to participate in the Extreme format rules and situations, SJOBA introduced the TSD Rally alongside the Extreme version. The objective of the TSD rally is always to be at the correct distance at correct ideal time. This format of rallying gives the average Joe a taste of participation in an organized motorsport event, a sense of adventure and the opportunity to see and drive to places which one would never get to otherwise. The TSD Rally has seen tremendous growth over the years.
