The onset of winter in North India marks the beginning of the auspicious wedding season. Every year, there are a few dates in November and December when traffic comes to a halt thanks to lakhs of wedding processions moving around simultaneously. The big fat Indian weddings are just getting bigger and fatter; the most luring aspect of an elite Indian wedding is its claim to a global yet Indian sensibility, bringing together the “western” and the “Indian” into the wedding experience. The other important aspects of the spectacle of the wedding is the opulent sets, the most exotic flowers, designer trousseau, flashy gold, diamond and platinum jewellery from around the globe. The main attraction are the trousseau and with these leading panache ladies, any place will turn into a fashion parade, as they have such a great styling sensibility and the A-list socialites dressed in stunning gowns, and fashionable costumes giving perfect #fashiongoals for wedding affairs. The four fashionistas, namely, Nidhi Mohan Kamal, Nimrata Chadha, Sima Puri and Misha Sood Mehta, just not have their styling sensibilities in place but also belonging to varied fields, each one of them is excelling in it.
NIDHI MOHAN KAMAL
A fashion doyen from Delhi, there is a subtlety and charm that she exhibits. She is dynamic and beautiful; this young girl is a fashionista and has her style sensibilities in place. Nidhi Mohan Kamal can rightly be called as a young style icon who is a connoisseur at food and nutrition. She is a certified fitness trainer and had a brand label ‘Nidsun’ under her name from last 8 years.
Weight loss and body shaping are few of the main agendas of Nidsun, it also has fast freezing program (Nonsurgical), Radio frequency for skin, online program for India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and many more. Nidhi’s father being an army man never settled at one place but after some time they settled down in Chandigarh. Nidhi did her study in food science from Punjab University and she did her nutrition, certification from ISA, and her MBA from IMT Ghaziabad.
Tell us something about your professional journey?
I started working with cooperates, dealing in manufacturing of food products, and I worked there for 4 years. Soon I realised the object of such companies is to provide quantity rather than quality and also they look make sure that the product they are offering should be tasty and should live longer, without working on the nutrition value. Then I realised that I need to do something, as my brother is a sports physician, I started working with him for a while and then we both came p with Nidsun. Currently we have 3 branches, 2 in Delhi and 1 in Chandigarh.
Any challenges you faced?
When we initially started, off course a year was hard as it takes time for people to trust, once it got started, there was no looking back.
What special will you be doing in Nidsun for brides during this wedding season?
Nothing as such, as the brides come to us around June and July, as our window period is of 45-90 days.
