A Break in the Blase Visiting Books N Brew
Glimpse|September 2016

The burgeoning café culture of Chandigarh gains a distinctive milestone to itself with the presence of Books N Brew, located in Sector 16- Chandigarh.

As any other curious high school goer, last year I planned to visit this slightly obscure café with my best friend after our classes. It’s crucial to remark that our first impression of the place was an astonishing one. The ambience of the place is an impressive Indo-Western fusion with a relaxing seating arrangement. The place is a specific hit with the younger crowd as it matches upto their jesty spirit with a pleasant décor: with lovely pictures adorning the walls and the casually-lit setting.

While I was engrossed by the pile of books generously provided by the café (which were actually quite a few) my friend was more inclined towards the board games like chess, jenga and uno offered by the place. Our common sphere of interest was undoubtedly the free WiFi accessible to us. The place was packed with the school and college goers, giving us company by spending far too much time than the ideal. Though a slight drawback that we experienced was the occasional discovery of dust settled on the tables and the chairs around, and also, constriction of free movement due to availability of less space.

The food was somewhat a delight as it fit our pockets comfortably and our taste buds as well. The combination of pasta with garlic bread along with a mug of coffee was savoury. Although my friend, Ankita Sharma, being a better gourmand than me, wasn’t all too pleased with honey chili potato and the chicken noodles.

Develop Your Own Home-Brewing Philosophy

Beer is a catalyst for community building.
