DON’T: Pretend like everything’s fine. Whether you saw it coming or not, going from coupled up to single is a big change. At first, you may feel like you can totally handle the heartache, but keeping your emotions tucked away will make you more stressed.

DO: Seek out your bestie, mom, or a beloved aunt for a sympathetic ear, some advice, and, yeah, tissues as you tearfully tell them how the breakup went down. Getting it all out will help heal your heart.
