They say you never forget your first, and Carolina Herrera certainly didn’t; not when it came to her first whiff of fresh jasmine that lingered in her bedroom one summer in Venezuela. A scent that makes a sweaty, sultry summer night memorable — sweet, musky, and intoxicating. That started Herrera’s olfactory love affair with jasmine — known by friends and family as the irresistibly mysterious flower that “connects with [her] emotions”. So taken was Herrera with the aroma of jasmine that her first fragrance created in 1988 under the Carolina Herrera brand, eponymously named the Carolina Herrera eau de parfum, had the flower as the heart of the scent.
