If rotal insiders are to be believed, Prince William could be a bit bratty when he was a little boy. One story goes that he’d tell people they had to “do as I say” because “one day I’m going to be king”.
But if he has any trace of the obnoxious left, the Duke of Cambridge is hiding it rather well. He’s the hard-working son of the beloved late People’s Princess, the future king who comes across as unfailingly kind and considerate, the dedicated mental-health advocate who does his best to help society’s most vulnerable.
Yet surely there can be no greater testament to a person’s character than how they are at home, away from the public eye. And if the recent heart-melting pictures are anything to go by, Wills is doing just fine.
The pics were taken by avid photographer Kate in the grounds of the family’s country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, to mark both her husband’s 38th birthday and Father’s Day.
In one of the pictures released to the media, William rolls on the grass while George (6), Charlotte (5) and Louis (2) clamber all over him. Another shows father and kids on a swing Prince Charles bought William and Kate as a wedding present.
Charles would’ve wanted his son and daughter-in-law to enjoy the gift in the garden. And this picture, of his beaming son and his three gorgeous grandchildren, is bound to have made the 71-year-old’s heart swell.
