After six years of marriage Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch have called it quits

GIVE or take three years he's been married pretty much since 1956. Perhaps he's an incurable romantic he's said "I do" a few times since then.

He walked down the aisle for the first time aged 25 but that marriage ended 11 years later.

Then came his second union, which ended because he cheated. And his third crashed to a close after 14 years when his wife had an affair.

Now Rupert Murdoch is facing a fourth divorce, according to The New York Times - this time from former model Jerry Hall.

The exact reason is still unknown but many in his inner circle are shocked Rupert and Jerry are calling it quits.

The couple tied the knot just six years ago after a whirlwind romance, and few had an inkling things weren't going well between the 91-year-old and his 66-year-old wife.

"Their marriage is very much the genuine article.

"If you ask anyone who's seen them together privately, they'll tell you Jerry dotes on him, so no one saw this coming," a well-placed insider says.

"They seemed so well-matched, another adds. "Only a few months ago they appeared perfectly content, and their families got on very well.

"It's hard to imagine what could have happened since then to bring this about.

The only public sign that something was wrong came earlier this month when the businessman threw his annual summer party at London's Serpentine Gallery.

The event is one of the most prestigious social invitations of the sun ner, yet neither Jerry nor her children from a previous relationship, Elizabeth (38), James (36), Georgia (30), or Gabriel (24) Jagger, were present.

Some in their inner circle have now pointed out subtle signs of a strained relationship.

"After the pandemic, he started snapping at her a little," a source close to the family says.
