Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne take a quantum leap in the latest MCU miniature-piece…
Directors who have returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for more than one movie are a select few. Jon Favreau, Joss Whedon, James Gunn, Anthony and Joe Russo… and now Peyton Reed. Ant-Man And The Wasp marks Reed’s second outing after 2015’s hugely successful origin story, with Paul Rudd reprising his role as Marvel’s miniature hero, ex-con Scott Lang.
For the first sequel of his career, Reed resolved not to repeat the mistakes of so many follow-ups. “One of my real pet peeves about sequels is when they remake the first movie or they take the characters back to the same emotional starting place and rehash the same arc for the characters,” he says. “We were determined not to do that.”
