The Bold And The Beautiful

Munah Bagharib and hirzi zulkiflie of @Munahhirzi official dub themselves the “founding Prince and Princess of YoutuBe”. we think it’s high time these two upgraded to “the next generation’s king and Queen of comedy”.

The Bold And The Beautiful

The top on our youtube click list, munahhirzi official’s youtube debut was as raw as it gets. filmed on shaky hand helds, sans the overdone editing present even in videos back then, the duo gained much attention with their audacious (but highly entertaining) 10 dares series. eight years and over 28 million unique channel views later, munah bagharib and hirzi zulkiflie have seen their channel evolve from outrageous dares, to comedic skits and impressive parodies that highlight important social issues. But that’s not to say they’ve lost their controversial edge – these envelope pushers have instead channelled it (no pun intended) into clever, satirical ways to get their audience and beyond, to sit up and pay attention to their messages.

And that’s only one of the many interesting things about munah and hirzi, who have many a time described their brand as “entertainment with a social cause” – their ability to tactfully wrap their take on topics such as racial minority, gender identity, etc., in humour and present them as food for thought, at the very least.

In this year’s local issue, we chose to speak to the self-dubbed (and rightly so) “founding prince and princess of the youtube scene” primarily because of their willingness to inspire and make a change. not only do they wield a tremendous power in the local scene, these bffs have built solid careers for themselves even outside youtube, with a slew of acting and hosting gigs under their belts. But don’t let their success and divalike alter-egos fool you into assuming they are intimidating creatures. in the flesh, munah and hirzi are easily the most hilarious and relatable people we’ve had the pleasure of working with. and once our questions started, their words just kept on rolling.

So, it’s been eight years since you guys started working together!
