CAMILA CABELLO HAS MADE GREAT STRIDES ON HER OWN SINCE DEPARTING FIFTH HARMONY, BUT IS SHE MADE FOR SOLO STARDOM? AHEAD, WE DOCUMENT HER POST-5H JOURNEY THUS FAR, AND PREDICT WHAT ELSE THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR THE WUNDERKIND.

Miss Movin' On

Leaving a platinum-selling musical group doesn’t always guarantee solo success, and debuting a brand new image that sets you apart from a collective is a tricky affair – which therefore makes Camila Cabello’s abrupt adieu from Fifth Harmony a headline-grabbing one. Many opined that only time could prove if she would blossom on her own, or fall victim to an underwhelming aftermath solo career – but by the looks of the her recent successes, she’s heading in the right direction.

Her indelible mark on pop music will be heralded by her upcoming debut effort titled The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., with each chapter chronicling the highs and lows of her personal journey. And with such a compelling concept behind her newfound artistry, it’s hard for the world not to take notice.

The Hurting

Camila’s distinct voice and extroverted personality made her stand out amongst the X Factor US-assembled girl group since career beginnings – even then-judge Demi Lovato pointed her out as someone the rest of the quintet should take notes from. But perhaps her greatest assets contributed to her downfall. Her public displays of affection with the other girls visibly dwindled as their accomplishments soared over the years, culminating in contrasting accounts of the girl group fallout on both Camila’s and 5H’s social media platforms. Harmonizers were distraught and the group’s future was left uncertain, but Camila had never felt more liberated.
