The Yorkshire Dales would be a quieter place without All Creatures Great and Small’s carefree vet Tristan Farnon, who has an uncanny knack of talking his way out of trouble!
And when TV Times meets Callum Woodhouse, who plays him, at a London hotel to chat about the latest run of the hit Channel 5 period drama, we’re delighted to find he is just as friendly and fun as his charming character.
This week’s episode sees birthday boy Tristan eager to prove to his exacting brother, head vet Siegfried (Samuel West), that he can be responsible, and some surprises await!
Here, Callum, 27, tells us more…
Tristan seems to be growing up a bit in this series, doesn’t he?
Yes, he started off very lazy but Siegfried wants him to do more work with the animals and go on calls. And Tristan is able to really connect with the animals’ owners.
Siegfried still hasn’t told Tristan that he didn’t pass his veterinary exams. Is Tristan going to find out?
It’s certainly on the cards. But whether it blows up in both or just one of their faces remains to be seen...
