SUNDAY / BBC1 / 9PM / EP 3 of 6 / DRAMA

As Killing Eve’s formidable spymaster Carolyn Martens, Fiona Shaw is a force to be reckoned with. So TV Times is slightly nervous when the BAFTA-winning actor joins us for a video call to talk about her latest scene-stealing turn in BBC1’s crime thriller Baptiste.

We needn’t have worried, though, because Fiona couldn’t be friendlier as she chats during a break in filming last November about the challenges of playing troubled Emma Chambers, the British ambassador to Hungary.

Emma is currently reeling from the murder of her husband, Richard (Adrian Rawlins), and the disappearance of their sons Alex (Stuart Campbell) and Will (Conrad Khan), and, this week, matters take another disturbing turn as private investigator Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) makes some shocking discoveries.

‘It’s a fantastic part,’ says Fiona, 63, before going on to tell us more…
