DEATH IN PARADISE

NEW FRIDAY / BBC1 / 9PM / EP 1 of 8 / DRAMA

The sun may be shining on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie as BBC1’s Death in Paradise returns for an 11th series, but a cloud hangs over Honoré police station.

After DI Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) declared his romantic feelings for DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert), the pair must now decide if they’re more than just good friends – and their professional relationship might get a little awkward while they work that out.

However, they’re kept busy this week by a tragic case when the father of a kidnapped girl is killed shortly after dropping off the ransom money.

Here, in an exclusive interview, Ralf, 41, who called TV Times from Guadeloupe, where the series is filmed, chats ‘Floreville’, exciting investigations and trying to learn new skills...

What’s your take on Neville and Florence’s relationship at this point?

That conversation didn’t go how he hoped it would, of course, and it’s very difficult to carry on as though things are normal.

It is going to affect the dynamic between them in a way that they are going to have to figure out somehow – whether that’s by ignoring it and hoping it goes away or having to confront it directly, I can’t tell you!

Do you think it was a good idea for Neville to reveal to Florence how he felt?
