THE QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATION

SUNDAY, 8PM, ITV ENTERTAINMENT

Windsor Castle has long held a special place in Queen Elizabeth II’s heart, so it’s fitting that Her Majesty’s beloved Berkshire home is the venue for a star-studded spectacular to mark her incredible 70 years on the throne.

Hosted by Julie Etchingham and Phillip Schofield, The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration will air live on ITV from the castle's grounds and will see famous faces take part in a theatrical arena event that will feature musical performances, scenes from history and equestrian displays.

The epic production comprises four acts, each helmed by a different presenter - Hollywood leading man Tom Cruise, actor Damian Lewis, Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh, and gardener Alan Titchmarsh.

Here, Alan, 73, reveals why he can't wait...

How excited are you to be taking part?

I'm delighted - the Platinum Jubilee is unique. It has never happened before. It's unlikely to happen again. We've an opportunity to thank the country's longest serving monarch for a job well done. It will be the most spectacular evening.

It's an amazing line-up...

Tom Cruise and I are not a natural pairing, but I'm all for breaking the mould! I just want to do a good job and I'm sure Tom feels the same.

I hope the Queen will feel touched by the presence of so many people, onstage and in the audience, who are there not only to enjoy the spectacle but to wish her well.

What makes Windsor Castle a perfect venue?
