Will Mellor makes his much-anticipated debut in Coronation Street this week, but if you’re expecting the ex-Hollyoaks and Casualty star to be playing another cheeky chappie, you’re in for a surprise.

The Manchester-born actor is taking on the role of drug dealer Harvey, leader of the gang leading teenager Simon Barlow astray.

Speaking to TV Times, Will, 44, reveals why he’s enjoying being a baddie for a change, and why getting a role on the Weatherfield soap means the world to him…

Are you excited to join Corrie?
