The future looks bleak for Peter and Carla this week when the broken Barlow ends up in hospital after a suspected booze binge, and Carla’s smitten admirer Lucas asks her to run away with him. Have the cursed couple finally run out of chances?

Steve is stunned to find a slurring Peter at No.1, and assumes he’s fallen off the wagon once again. Poorly Peter insists he hasn’t been drinking, but maddened Mr McDonald lays into his mate for giving into his addiction – then locks him in.

Oblivious to the unfolding drama, Carla is talking business with old flame Lucas, which turns into a more personal chat when he opens up.
