Sharon’s secret is finally uncovered by Jenny, who pieces together a series of clues and deduces why her foster ‘sister’ is really back on the cobbles.

But with shady Shaz prepared to do anything to stop word getting out, could the Rovers landlady come a cropper?

Jenny already knows that Sharon has a nephew, Harvey, on the inside, and she’s further intrigued when Gary works out that it was Sharon who hired the van used for Sam’s recent kidnap.

As she voices her concerns to Ronnie, she’s shocked as he reveals that he overheard Sharon quizzing Toyah about Leanne’s visit to the cobbles last week.

‘Jenny turns into Weatherfield’s answer to Angela Lansbury,’ laughs Sally Ann Matthews, who plays her. ‘She’s on the trail!’

Confronting Toyah and Imran, Jen reveals her theory that Sharon was behind Sam’s ordeal.

As Imran explains that Sam was snatched to draw Leanne out of hiding, as she’s the key witness in the trial of a drugs baron, Harvey, the penny drops, and Jenny races over to Rita’s flat to alert her. But she’s unprepared for what happens as Sharon answers the door...

Rita smells a rat when she later finds her former foster daughter about to leg it. You can hear it now: ‘I want some answers, lady!’
