‘Jan's petrified'

CASUALTY SATURDAY / BBC1 / 8.20PM / DRAMA

As Casualty favourite Di Botcher chats happily away to TV Times on the phone, we are thrilled when she reveals she can’t wait to buy this week’s issue so her mum can read this interview.

Since joining BBC1’s everpopular medical drama in 2018, Di has won legions of fans as paramedic Jan Jenning. Her character is known for her warmth and sense of duty, but now we’re about to see a different side as she turns to crime to save her son’s life.

Viewers recently saw Jan’s jailbird son, Ross, beg his mum to smuggle in prescription drugs to stop him being attacked by fellow inmates, and this week she gets the dreaded call that it’s finally time to make the drugs drop.

Here, Di, 61, tells us more about the dramatic plot, and reveals why there could be a whole show dedicated to her bloopers…
