Art and music often go hand in hand. So perhaps it’s not surprising that just before he hit the big time as the energetic frontman of indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs, Ricky Wilson spent a year as an art teacher at Leeds College of Art and Design.

Now, the former The Voice UK coach is hoping to inspire kids around the country to get creative with his new 10-part series for CBBC, Ricky Wilson’s Art Jam.

In each episode, Ricky is joined in his studio by a famous friend, including Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, presenter Ade Adepitan and Strictly star Joe Sugg, who will tell him the stories behind three of their favourite items. He’ll then use those objects to make them a bespoke piece of art.

Here, in an exclusive interview, Ricky, 43, tells TV Times more…
