HAPPY & GLORIOUS!

Come rain or shine, many of us will be hanging up the bunting, dusting off the trestle tables, and trying to whip up the official Platinum Jubilee Pudding of a lemon and Swiss roll amaretti trifle as the nation comes together for a special four-day weekend to celebrate the Queen's 70 years on the throne.

The festivities begin on Hol Thu 2 June, with the BBC providing live coverage of the key events.

'In celebration of Her Majesty's 70 years of service, the BBC will bring the people of the UK together with something for everyone to commemorate this historic anniversary,' says chief content officer Charlotte Moore.

'The BBC is marking the Queen's momentous Platinum Jubilee in spectacular style with an unprecedented range of special programming!'

Here, TV Times guides you through this week's proceedings...

THIS WEEK'S LIVE EVENTS

On Holiday Thursday and Holiday Friday, BBC1 will provide coverage of three official events, with presenter Kirsty Young at the helm.

'I can't wait!' says Kirsty. 'It's going to be quite a weekend and our coverage will bring viewers everywhere a front-row seat at the celebrations."

The military spectacle will culminate with an RAF fly-past, with members of the Royal Family expected to assemble on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the proceedings.
