CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW

NEW SUNDAY-FRIDAY, TIMES VARY, BBC1 & BBC2 GARDENING

Exciting exhibits, fantastic floral displays and truly spectacular show gardens will be the horticultural centrepieces as the Chelsea Flower Show returns for its first springtime, in-person event since 2019, following last year's historic autumnal affair.

And one person who can't wait to marvel at all the beautiful blooms is Gardeners' World favourite and seven-time Chelsea gold-medal winner Adam Frost, who'll be sharing his expert insights as part of the BBC's team of presenters across the week.

'It's going to be one huge bonanza!' enthuses Adam, 52, as he joins TV Times for an exclusive interview.

‘Last year's event was scaled down and took place in September because of the coronavirus pandemic, so this year is going to be extra exciting.' In an hour-long launch show this Sunday on BBC1, Joe Swift and Sophie Raworth take a look around the showground before it opens to the public on Tuesday 24 May.

Here, Adam tells us more...

Why does the Chelsea Flower Show hold a special place in your heart?

My history with it goes back a long way. I have a really strong memory of my old man taking me there when I was about 12. He worked for a landscape company who built gardens and took me to help.

Then I started working for Geoff Hamilton [the landscape gardener and long-running Gardeners' World presenter) and was building gardens there myself, so Chelsea holds a lot of history and emotion for me.

How does it feel to be so involved now?
