Just a few weeks ago, Dan Lewis was an ordinary man from Liverpool who volunteered at a food bank and gave tours at museums. Now, he’s travelling through time and space with the Doctor…

For actor and comedian John Bishop, who plays Dan, his journey since joining the show has been just as exciting as that of his good friend Bradley Walsh, whose last episode as Graham O’Brien aired in January.

In fact, Bishop found himself trying to surreptitiously research the job with Walsh before his casting was officially announced.
