You don’t have to travel to Lapland to see herds of reindeers this festive season. C4’s heart-warming documentary A Baby Reindeer’s First Christmas focuses on a herd that roams wild in the Scottish Highlands.
Cameras follow the dedicated team of herders and volunteers working at the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd in Aviemore as they prepare for Christmas events and celebrations.
‘I’ve been doing this for 39 years and it’s such a joy,’ says Tilly Smith, who runs the center with her husband Alan. ‘Whenever we take the reindeers to events, they still put a smile on my face, let alone everyone else’s.’
