Eight funny, sad and quirky real-life love stories come to our screens this week, courtesy of Amazon Prime Video’s entertaining new anthology series Modern Love.
The eight stand-alone episodes are all based on a long-running New York Times column of the same name, with each half-hour story taking place over the course of a single day and exploring love in all its forms – from sex and romance to friendship and family.
The series boasts a stellar cast, including Anne Hathaway, Andy Garcia, Tina Fey, John Slattery and Andrew Scott, alongside British star Dev Patel, with Catastrophe’s Sharon Horgan writing and directing one of the episodes.
DREAM CAST
‘It’s like I woke up in the actor candy store. We’ve managed to assemble a dream cast of my favourite actors,’ says producer John Carney. ‘It’s a testament to the reach of the original newspaper column and of how – now more than ever – love is the only certainty.’
