Robert De Niro reveals all about a new drama based on the Bernie madoff scandal
It was one of the biggest frauds in US history, a multi-billion dollar scam that left thousands of investors in financial ruin, including several big-name Hollywood stars.
Now, the story of disgraced financier Bernie Madoff has been turned into an HBO one-off film, The Wizard of Lies, which screens this week on Sky Atlantic. Directed by Barry Levinson, who scored an Oscar for 1988’s Rain Man, its stellar cast includes Robert De Niro as Madoff and Michelle Pfeiffer as his unwitting wife, Ruth.
