NEW DRAMA
Conversations with Friends
Sun, 10pm & 10.30pm, Mon, 10pm, BBC3 (box set, BBC iPlayer)
Back in 2020, the award-winning adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel Normal People was one of the biggest TV hits of lockdown. Now, the author’s first book, Conversations with Friends, comes to the screen, and promises to be just as captivating.
Airing on BBC3, the 12-part series centres on shy young Irish student Frances (Alison Oliver) who is studying at Dublin’s prestigious Trinity College and also performs poetry alongside her more self-assured best friend and former lover Bobbi (American Honey’s Sasha Lane).
